H.C. Andersens Hus gives you the opportunity to see new pages of H.C. Andersen's writing. Here the focus is not on the person Andersen and his story, but rather on the fairy tales he wrote and their voice.
In 2021, the biggest new attraction in Odense for many years opened - the new H.C. Andersen House. The museum was designed by the famous Japanese architect Kengo Kuma and consists of both indoor and outdoor spaces, which together extend over 12,600 m2.
Two-thirds of the museum is underground and it is surrounded by a fairy-tale garden, which in the summer months abounds with brightly colored flowers and small, unique, green environments.
Awarded Green Attraction in September 2023, as part of an overall green effort for Museum Odense.
With 200,000 inhabitants, Odense is the largest city on Funen. The city offers many exciting attractions for both children and adults. Experience the atmosphere of the old town that is currently being 'reunited' with the rest of the city center in Th.B. The Thriges Street project, which is expected to be completed by 2020. The old town is also where you find H.C. Andersen Museum, H.C. Andersen's birthplace, the children's culture house Fyrtøy and the town museum Møntergården.
