THE GREEN MUSEUM
The Green Museum offers the opportunity to experience hunting, forests, agriculture and food in a single museum for the very first time. This beautiful, living museum is located in fantastic surroundings in Auning on the peninsula of Djursland in Jutland. From the moment you arrive at the museum, you will feel the history of the countryside we live in and live of and experience a world of domestic animals, fields, vegetable gardens, traditions, people, machinery and stories as the seasons change.
Take a trip out into the blue with friends and family and enjoy a day full of adventure – both indoors and out – with lots to see, touch and smell. Holidays are full of activities – woodwork, feeding the animals and experiences for both children and adults.
A PLETHORA OF ACTIVITIES
All year round you can experience events, activities, exhibitions and much more. At regular intervals, the museum is filled with volunteers who make the tractors and forestry machines roar, the kitchens smell, the workshops hum with life and the fields grow.
Keep an eye on the calendar on the museum's website - here you will also find the dates of exciting events such as the Danish Championship in cooking wild game meat, the Christmas market, Experience days and much more.
HOLIDAY AT THE MUSEUM
During the holidays, the museum fills the days with activities and immersion for all ages. Come and try your hand at the traditional crafts that have always been part of the hunter's, forest worker's, farmer's and housewives life. Every holiday has its own theme!
Green Attraction since May 2023.
East Jutland offers you a wonderful combination of fertile landscape, expansive forests, sandy shorelines and bustling big cities.
The green and hilly landscape of the region was formed by the glaciers of the last glaciation. Valleys, gorges and deep fjords were all carved by the flow of glacial melt water.
You’ll find that East Jutland is easily accessible and full of varied, outdoor experiences. It's also home to Denmark's dynamic second city, Aarhus, Mols Bjerge National Park, Samsø and Vejle.
But you also find Søhøjlandet with Silkeborg and Skanderborg's lakes and forests as well as Legoland in Billund.
